This workshop is\nan invitation to dance with the fear that holds us back\, the longing that draws us forward\, and\nthe surrender that comes when we can hold and move with both. \nIt takes courage to sense what is true and alive in us – a whisper\, a desire\, a calling from the\nsoul – and to follow that call despite the rational voices in our mind\, which try to keep us in\nthe safety of what is known and comfortable. \nWe need courage to grow and reach for our dreams.\nWe need courage to feel and show our vulnerability\, so we can experience connection.\nWe need courage to stand up for what matters to us\, and to stay in integrity and true to\nourselves.\nWe need courage to face the unknown and surrender into it — to feel the fear\, but also the\nexcitement and the rewards that follow the leap. \nThis is the archetypal journey of the hero. And as we are all heroes in our own lives\, we are\ncontinuously invited to meet the challenges and possibilities life presents us with. There are\nno comfortable shortcuts — but there are many moments of deep joy along the way. This precious time\, by nature\, holds the capacity to go to the still point underneath our inner turbulence. This still point is an entrance into the heart of the earthiness of what we are as well as into our divine essence. \nAs Heartbeat-level is the realm of our emotions. In this workshop we’ll take time to look into our inner darkness of our emotional landscape\, the wild parts\, the silent parts\, the deep parts. We’ll move and dance with them. \nThe moment we surrender to those parts delight comes in.Since we have time in this 5 days\, we’ll also have a deep dive into our capacity for delight\, joy and pleasure. DESCRIPTION:  \n\nRarely were my days around New Year’s Eve so magical; dancing\, breathing\, traveling through what was and was to come’\n– Moniek Slaman \n\nAre you in need of reflection and contemplation?\nDo you long for a time that inspires you?\nWe can sometimes get so “drained” at Christmas and New Year’s time.\nIt can be different!\n\nThe time at the end of the year invites you to become still\, to go within to discover what is going on inside you.\nIt is a time for reflection\, contemplation; a time to give direction to what is to come. \n\nIn this retreat\, we do that with dance (5Rhythms) and reflection. Like a ritual around the transition from the old to the new year.\n\nWhen we dance for more days we often experience the dance as deeper and more transformative. These days you have the opportunity to experience that for yourself. \n\nThe extraordinary thing is that the depth of this series of days remains palpable even as we dance a single day.\nEvery day we dance a wave (the 5Rhythms®) accompanied only by music. This desert journey is both a “real journey” and a metaphor for how we travel through life. In the desert we encounter physical discomforts\, which help us find clarity about where we stand in life. At the same time\, the desert is a place where deep silence and the unlikely beauty of nature constantly mirror our essence. During this journey we will move through the different landscapes of the Sahara; dunes\, plains and oases. In each place we will explore how our bodies respond to the elements and the vast environment.\nDuring this journey\, long walking days in silence will alternate with days where we are in one place. We walk\, we meditate\, we dance to live music and move in other ways. We will move on foot in a small caravan. With a local guide\, cook\, camels and their companions. We trust that the journey will be exactly the one we need. Due to the nature of this desert journey\, it is impossible to predict exactly how and where we will be. \nPractical details:\nWhen:\n9-19 November 2025 \nWhere:\nMoroccan Sahara We will gather in Ouarzazate in the evening of November 10\, from there we will drive with one or two vans on November 11 to Ouled Driss on the edge of desert. Depending on when we arrive\, we will sleep the first night in Ouled Driss and depart the next morning into the Sahara.\nIn the desert we will sleep in tents or under the “bare sky.”\nThere is always the choice of sleeping in a tent\, in most cases a double tent. \nInvestment:\n€1675\, = book before September 1: € 1575\, = (incl. intake € 45\, = incl.)\nIntake is necessary due to the nature of the trip.
